Ericsson has launched new solutions to enable service providers, cater to use cases across verticals including automotive, manufacturing, and utilities will propel the IoT market globally to a broader scale.
India: Swedish gear maker Ericsson launched new solutions to enable service providers to address a larger part of the IoT market. The solutions will be usable for multiple purposes such as automotive, manufacturing, and utilities. The company has further sketched cellular IoT evolution in four market segments comprising massive IoT, broadband IoT, critical IoT, and industrial automation IoT.
“Cellular IoT is moving from early adoption with Massive IoT to global rollout. We are now describing ‘what’s next?’ for our customers and how they can make the most out of their 4G and 5G investments on the same network and address more advanced IoT use cases across industries,”- said Fredrik Jejdling, Executive Vice President and Head of Networks, Ericsson. Ericsson has installed NB-IoT data connections up to 100km with Telstra and DISH.
“Ericsson’s cellular IoT evolution concept will support service providers to incrementally allow add-on use cases even within a single vertical. The new solutions will enable use cases in automotive, drones, AR/VR, advanced wearable, smart manufacturing, and smart utilities.” said, Senior Research Analyst, IoT and Mobile Network Infrastructure at IDC.
According to Rani Barman, analyst at Blueweave Consulting, The Internet of Things (IoT) market is growing rapidly. This can be credited to the fact that there is lot of development in wireless networking technologies, increase in cloud platform adoption, start of advanced data analytics and data processing. IoT has transformed the way organizations across industry verticals interact with their customers creating connectivity which helps organizations in increasing operational efficiency and optimizing business outcomes hence, increasing the IoT market. The introduction of IoT helps in cost reduction has been the prime factor for its adoption in the industrial sector. However, several substantial investments initiative such as increased productivity, process automation, and time-to-market will boost IoT adoption. An emerging trend among worldwide players for the transformation from technical focus to improving connectivity in order to accept data collection with the right security measures and improved connections to the cloud is also promoting the IoT market. The development of low-power hardware devices, cloud integration, big data analytics, robotics & automation, and smart sensors are majorly driving the growth of IoT market globally.
According to the recent published report by BlueWeave Consulting on “Global IoT In Automotive Market By Offering (Hardware, Software, Service), By Connectivity From Factors (Embedded, Tethered, Integrated), By Communication Type (In- Vehicle, Vehicle-To-Vehicle, Vehicle-To-Infrastructure), By Application (Navigation, Telematics, Infotainment), By Region (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa And Latin America); Size And Forecast, 2018-2025”- Global IoT in Automotive market is expected to grow with a growth rate over 28% during the forecast period due to its benefits like updating real-time traffic and incident alerts that help people in saving time and responding to critical situation intelligently. In the automotive industry, IoT has allowed greater transportation efficiency and management capabilities. The market is majorly accelerated by increasing need for time-saving and maximizing productivity at fast-paced world. Further, the presence of high-speed mobile networks will promote IoT growth, enhancing response times and vehicular communication.
According to the upcoming report by BlueWeave Consulting on “Global IoT Market, By Component Type (Devices, Connectivity, Platforms), By Software Solution (Real-Time Streaming Analytics, Security Solution, Data Management, Remote Monitoring, and Network Bandwidth Management) By Application (Consumer Electronics, Retail, Manufacturing, Transportation, Healthcare), Size and Forecast 2018-2025”- The overall Internet of Things market is expected to grow with a significant growth rate during the forecast period. The growing demand and adoption of cloud computing, coupled with the Scalability of IPv6-3.4X 10^38 IP address, are presumed to drive the market over the forecast period. The adoption is predicted to increase the overall productivity, enhancing operational efficiency, improve visibility, and also reducing the complexities results in IoT demand. Related Blog
