MBA Polymers Inc. for enlarging its presence in Europe region acquires new recycling plant in Germany
- Published | 10 September 2019
The coverage area of the new site is 16.000 m2, of which 5.500 m2 is production space with the high-tech plant which is going to impel the global plastic market
Global: On July 19th, 2019, MBA Polymers Inc. acquires new production
site in Mauna near Dresden. It will be the MBA Polymers 5th recycling facility
using its patented process, producing a state-of-the-art post-consumer plastic.
With the help of this facility MBA Polymers makes use of the growing quantities
of WEEE in Germany and Europe and the global demand for post-consumer plastics.
It plans to hire initially 20 specialists in the field of material flow and
quality management. From January 2020 onwards 17.500 metric tons of WEEE will
be processed in Mauna annually.
The material produced
would be further separated and processed into high-quality plastics in
exceptionally complex and in-house developed processes. Post-consumer
plastics (HIPS, ABS, PP and PC/ABS) extracted from WEEE. Germany is a promising
market for post-consumer plastic recycling. Commissioning of MBA Polymers 5th
plant beginning of 2020 in Saxonia and further reduce global CO2 emissions by
replacing virgin plastics.
According to BlueWeave Consulting, the rise of global
population, and increase in economic and industrial activities at an even
faster rate results in a large portion of total waste generated on an everyday
basis from several sources thus raised the need to recycle the waste plastic.
Moreover, the negative environmental impact of plastics disposal drives the
global recycled plastics market. The production of plastics has increased
manifold over the past few decades, which have led to the generation of a considerable
amount of waste, resulting in environmental concerns. Furthermore, recycling of
plastics is gaining significance as it is limiting the effects of plastics
pollution, as recycling results in the decrease in the use of energy and
material and improve eco-efficiency. These factors play a significant role in
driving the usage of recycled plastics over the coming years. While many
countries across the globe have recommended using recyclable plastic, they are
also encouraging the use of paper, which is eco-friendly material. Governments
have banned plastic usage across regions and focusing on the use of paper bags,
thus hindering the growth of the global plastic recycling market in the coming
years.
According to BlueWeave Consulting’s report titled “Global Plastic Recycling Market by Source (Bottles, Films, Fibers, Foams, Others), By Material (Polyethylene Terephthalate(PET), Polypropylene(PP), High Density Polyethylene(HDPE), Low Density Polyethylene(LDPE), Polystyrene(PS), Polyvinyl Chloride(PVC), Others), End-Use Industry (Packaging, Building & Construction, Textiles, Automotive, Electrical & Electronics), By Region (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East & Africa), Market Trend Analysis, Competitive Analysis, Size and Forecast, 2015-2025”
Global Plastic Recycling
Market is witnessing significant growth as the concerns related to plastic
decomposition is rising due to difficulty in decomposing the virgin plastics,
growing awareness of energy savings, and the increasing use of these plastics
in many applications are expected to influence the growth of the recycled
plastics market positively. Recycled plastics can be used in a wide range of
goods and hence the applications of recycled plastics are escalating owing to
the advancements in superior recycling technologies.
