Symrise opens an extended application laboratory to expand micro protection for cosmetic ingredients

Global: Symrise has opened a new laboratory for cosmetic ingredients in
Holzminden, Germany. The new facility will enable the development,
optimization, and testing of new cosmetic formulations, specifically utilizing
the portfolio of antimicrobial ingredients from the Micro Protection category.
The laboratory will support customer-specific projects as well as the
development of new innovative materials for use in cosmetic applications. The
company has broadened its capabilities to conduct on-site workshops as a means
of enhancing customer service.
With the new laboratory, Symrise intends to expand the Micro Protection
category’s capabilities within the Cosmetic Ingredients division. The category
consists of a portfolio of safe and effective preservatives and multifunctional
ingredients as well as skin protection products such as deodorants,
anti-dandruff and hygiene solutions.
According to BlueWeave Consulting, with the increasing demand, manufacturers
are focusing on bringing in products specific to the consumer requirement and
hence, gender-specific products are also increasing at a rapid pace. Growing
concerns on the long term effects due to the usage of cosmetics are forcing the
manufacturer to bring in organic products as well which in turn is expected to
increase the cosmetic market during the forecast period.

out of control in many emerging regions which leads to the increasing awareness
among people about the adverse effects of pollution on the skin and hair
simultaneously help in rising the demand of cosmetic products in coming years.
